Short-term vacation rental license renewal applications will be accepted beginning Monday, August 31, 2020. Applications and documents may be submitted online through your portal account.
Required Documents for Renewals
Current and active DBPR Transient Public Lodging Establishment License Current and active Certificate of Registration with Florida Department of Revenue Current and active Liability Insurance Advertisements of the vacation rental property must display the City of Sunny Isles Beach approved vacation rental license number (STR-00000) New Normal Guideline: Short-term vacation rentals may resume operation provided they conform with the plan submitted by Miami-Dade County and approved by the State, and follow the guidelines for hotels and accommodations in the Moving to a New Normal Guide. Read more at sibfl.net/reopening-str/. Note: Any changes to responsible party or the property owner will require a new license. Incomplete applications will be denied. Owner or responsible parties will receive an email of missing documentation.
Fees
Fees are paid by credit card online: Local Business Tax Receipt - $100 Short-Term Vacation Rental License - $300 Late Vacation Rental License Payment Fee - $50 (beginning October 1) Renewal fees are paid after the application is reviewed and approved. Fees charged by the Planning & Zoning Department for Short-Term Vacation Rental Licenses, pursuant to Resolution 2019-2957, are non-refundable.
Renew Online
After you have all of the required documents, you must submit your renewal application online through your portal account.
Your renewal application will be reviewed by the City's Planning & Zoning Department who will respond within approximately 10 business days with approval or the steps you need to take to resubmit any missing information. |

Short-term vacation rental licenses must be obtained from the City of Sunny Isles Beach Planning & Zoning Department prior to advertising, leasing or renting a multi-family dwelling unit for a period of 6 months or less. A separate license is required for each rental unit. Licenses expire and must be renewed each year by September 30.
