Community Survey Closes August 30
Ensure Your Voice is Heard
Receiving input from a wide array of residents will help us ensure that we understand the values of our community members. It will also let us be sure that we are representing our neighbors in the large and small decisions we make about programs, policies, and strategic plans. While the survey asks you to register your email and zip code, it is only to ensure one survey per person. Your email address is kept confidential and protected, as are your responses.
Improvements at Royal Palm Blvd. & Weston Rd.
Construction Begins on August 29
Improvements to the intersection of Royal Palm Boulevard and Weston Road are coming soon. A third southbound turn lane to Weston Road will be added from westbound Royal Palm Boulevard, which will help to alleviate congestion from vehicles entering the area from the I-75 interchange.

Construction will begin on Monday, August 29 and work will take place during non-peak hours to minimize the impact on traffic. Still, motorists may wish to seek an alternate route by accessing Weston Road from Griffin Road or State Road 84. This project is funded by the Broward Surtax funding from the MAP Broward Program.

Resources for Parents and Families
As parents and students settle back into the classroom, you may have more questions as we all adapt to the school year routine. How does a parent register to volunteer? Can I change my child’s bus route? How do I pay for school meals? Where do I find the menus? Is there before or after school care available? Find the answers to these and other questions on the Broward Schools Parent & Family Resources page online linked below.
Fire Safety Tip
Smoke Alarm
Smoke alarms are a key part of a home fire escape plan. If there is ever a fire, smoke spreads fast. Working smoke alarms give you early warning so you can get outside quickly. The National Fire Protection Association has outlined home smoke alarm safety tips. Take time to learn about the proper installation and use of smoke alarms in your home.

Water Smart Weston
Back to School, Back to Swim
Water is everywhere in South Florida, whether it is a backyard pool, lake, or canal. If your child does not know how to swim, make swim lessons part of their back-to-school routine. It’s the first step towards drowning prevention. The Children’s Services Council of Broward County has partnered with Broward County’s SWIM Central program to provide a coupon to off-set the cost of swimming instruction for children and their family at specific locations
