Maestro Jeffrey Eckstein and Siempre Flamenco announce the return to Miami Beach for the 8th consecutive year. Featuring a cast of international opera stars, guitarists, flamenco masters, and distinguished classical musicians, Flamenco Sephardit promises audiences a deeply emotional and transcendent experience.

The show explores the connection between Ladino and Flamenco music, two distinct cultures born in Spain.
Ladino originated from the Jews who lived in Spain for 500  years and were exiled from Spain during the Spanish Inquisition. It emerged from the songs these exiled Jews composed in their adopted homelands using their old Spanish from the 1400s.
Similarly, Flamenco emerged from the cries and sufferings of the Moors, Gypsies, and Jews after they were banned from Spain during the Spanish Inquisition. Flamenco Sephardit explores similarities and differences in these two cultures.

“The message of Flamenco Sephardit has always been to bring people of diverse cultures and religions together, to remind us that we all have similar origins, and therefore should live together in peace,” said Maestro Eckstein.

Controlling Mosquitos Around Your Home and Yard
Recent heavy rains in our area have created the perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes. As mosquito season is here, it’s time to take preventative measures to safeguard yourself and your home. Preventing bites is the best way to stay safe and there are many easy ways to accomplish this, primarily by draining standing water around your yard and patios.

If you experience an increase in mosquitoes in your neighborhood, you can make a service request with Broward County Mosquito Control.
June is Flood Control Awareness Month
Summer in south Florida means lots of rain and rain means flood control. If you are new to Florida or maybe you just don’t know how south Florida’s regional stormwater management system works; it is always good to know and every resident can help keep canals and catch basins clear to assist water in flowing freely. The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) operates and maintains the regional stormwater management system. The Indian Trace Development District and the Bonaventure Development District maintain the drainage system within Weston. Learn more about your community through the links below.

Let's Recycle Right!
So you think you know what goes into your recycling cart? Take a moment to review the list to be sure that you are recycling right. Carts that contain non-accepted items – such as plastic packing used around water bottle cases, or plastic grocery bags – will contaminate the entire load. Recycling the right way will make a difference for the future of recycling and the planet. Simple steps make a big difference.

Your Personal Treasure Hunt
This might not be the treasure hunt that first comes to mind, but you can still strike gold. One in five Floridians do! The "Florida Treasure Hunt" is an unclaimed property search tool provided by the Florida Department of Financial Services. Unclaimed property could be a bank account, refunds, insurance proceeds, stocks, uncashed checks or other financial assets.
