Make this school year a success with help from the Library

Miami-Dade County Public School students will head back to the virtual classroom on Monday, August 31. Whether learning virtually or in-person, the Library has the tools and resources for student success! From learning new concepts to completing school assignments, our online learning and training resources connect students to trusted, up-to-date content created especially for them.  All you need is your MDPLS library card.  Don't have one?  Sign-up for for an eCard and get immediate access to our online library.  Already have a card?  Tell your friends so they don't miss out!
Gale in Context: Elementary
Elementary school students can learn about everything from animals and outer space to famous artists and athletes in this age-appropriate database that’s visual and intuitive for young learners.
Gale in Context: Middle School
This easy to navigate database was developed just for middle school students, providing reliable, citable content from magazines, newspapers, videos and primary sources covering science, social studies, history, literature and more.
Gale OneFile: High School Edition
High schoolers can streamline their research with Gale OneFile: High School Edition and the rest of the Gale OneFile collection by freely accessing trusted and accurate content from leading magazines, newspapers and journals. They can even save, download and share content, as well as find the proper citations, with integrated tools.

Get back to studying with the MDPLS Homework Help & Tutoring Program

Fall 2020 Sessions
Saturdays, September 12 – December 19
9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. & 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
(30-minute sessions)
Help your child get better grades, gain confidence, and achieve academic success  with our Homework Help & Tutoring Program. Students in grades K-12 can receive free, one-on-one virtual tutoring in reading and math from certified teachers.
For more information and to request a 30-minute tutoring appointment, visit www.mdpls.org/tutor. Please note, a tutoring appointment request for your child/ren must be submitted each week.

HOMEWORK HELP & TUTORING

Get homework help throughout the week with Tutor.com

From homework help to study skills coaching, Tutor.com is available to help students of all ages all week long. All you need is your MDPLS library card.
One-to-One Online Tutoring
Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – midnight
Saturday – Sunday, noon – midnight
Homework Help
Expert tutors are available daily to provide free one-to-one online tutoring. Students can get help in math, science, English, writing, social studies, AP courses and more.
Study Skills Coaching
Students can build the foundations for academic success by meeting one-to-one online with study skills coaches, who can help them take better notes, get more organized, set achievable goals, study smarter and research more effectively.

Prepare for kindergarten and beyond with Miss Humblebee's Academy

Online preschool learning is made fun with Miss Humblebee’s Academy and your library card! The early literacy program helps prepare 3 - 6 year olds for success in kindergarten and beyond through hundreds of fully interactive guided lessons, fun printables and over 2,500 activities in math, science, social studies, language and literacy, art, and music. Parents also receive regular reports and assessment results to measure their child’s progress.
