What's On View

This exhibition surveys the myriad New York stories the Museum has acquired over the past three years, running the gamut from the colonial era to the recent past. A gallery of historic and contemporary photographs showcases works by both well-known and emerging artists, while the companion gallery presents original drawings, garments, posters, decorative arts objects, and many other artifacts that speak to the everyday life of the city. Together, these beautiful, eclectic, and poignant images and objects illuminate the compelling and layered identity of New York City.

A Message About the 2020 Census

The 2020 census ends on September 30th, which means that we have just a few more weeks to get every New Yorker counted or the city will lose crucial funding for education, health services, transportation, and more.
Help shape the future of your community. If you haven't already, fill out the form online, or respond by phone at 844-330-2020. The questionnaire takes less than five minutes to complete and does not ask citizenship questions. No matter who you are, we all count.
