The New Weston Way. One Step at a Time.
Phase I Reopenings
Some Parks, Golf Courses Now Open
As our state begins Phase I of reopening, there are multiple orders in effect. We would like to clarify the current guidelines for Weston.

Florida Governor Ron Desantis issued Executive Order 20-112 this week which begins the reopening of some businesses classified as non-essential throughout the state as of 12:01 a.m. on May 4, with the EXCEPTION of Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach Counties.

The City of Weston has issued Emergency Order 2020-10, and Broward County has issued Emergency Order 20-08, both effective April 29, 2020, which allow for individuals to participate in certain outdoor activities where social distancing is easiest to maintain. Under these orders, all of Weston's passive parks and most of Broward's parks are now open for passive use only. Golf courses are allowed to operate under strict guidelines, and marinas and boating activity can resume throughout the county.

As part of South Florida's Phase I reopening process, non-essential businesses must remain closed.

Working together for a healthy community. One step at a time. It's the New Weston Way. For the current guidelines in effect for Weston, visit WestonFL.org/NewWay.
Also covered in City of Weston - Emergency Order No. 2020-10, is the requirement for use of facial coverings, with some exceptions. Facial coverings are not recommended for children under 2, those with difficulty breathing, or food service personnel where it would pose as a hazard or health risk. The requirements shall not apply to the extent subject to a religious objection.

Medical and Surgical face masks, such as the N95-rated masks, are critical supplies that should be reserved for use by health care workers, police, fire, emergency management, or other persons engaged in life/safety activities.
