SANKOFA JAZZ FESTIVAL
African Heritage Cultural Arts Center

Sankofa Jazz Fest is an annual celebration with engaging performances that showcase incredibly talented and authentic jazz musicians on the historic grounds of Liberty City’s AHCAC. Volunteers enjoy free food/beverage, free t-shirt, access to the VIP bar.

ARTS & HOSPITALITY

Join The Arts & Business Council for the 16th annual breakfast featuring a panel of change-makers in a fast paced conversation about cultural tourism, collaboration, and profitable partnerships. Volunteers will assist with set-up and break-down, registration, greeting, directing guests to the venue, and contributing to the overall pleasant and welcoming atmosphere of the morning.

March 5Doral Contemporary Art Museum will celebrate International Women’s Day with a panel about women in Public Art. Featuring Dr. Carol Damian, Amanda Sanfillipo Long, Carola Bravo, Kerry Phillips, and Liene Bosquê, the conversation will highlight the accomplishments and contributions of women in this important field.
MASTERWORKS
South Florida Symphony Orchestra

March 5-8: Masterworks III boldly integrates the old and the new, bringing together in one evening of classical music. The program features two world premieres; one from Ellen Taaffe Zwilich’s Concerto for Cello and Orchestra, and the second by John D. Gottsch. Program includes the works of Beethoven, Gottsch, Zwilich, and Mendelssohn.

March 8: Announcing a new exhibition to celebrate the Centennial of the 19th Amendment for International Women’s Month - 100 years of voting rights for women in the US! Join us for an exhibition of Miami artists exploring the meaning and importance of voting - a personal and public discourse about the power of a woman’s ballot.

March 14: Join us for a fun happy hour with the arts featuring magnificent photos by featured artist Keith Spurlock as well as nature photography by ABC Director Laura Bruney! Guests are encouraged to connect with their own creativity by taking beach photos during the event on personal cellphones. Then, join us at the Art Table to share images and play with easy to use photo apps.
GLOBAL CUBA FEST 2020
Miami-Dade County Auditorium

March 14: A yearly celebration of the best musicians from the Cuban Diaspora. Closing night with the explosive music of Piano Marathon Cubano by Jorge Luis Pacheco and Mambo #2020 “Mambo meets Timba” by Alain Perez and Julio Montalvo Orchestra.
MAKERSPACE WORKSHOP
FIU Frost Museum

March 21: Inspired by FIU Frost Museum's current exhibition Transitional Nature, participants will create their own unique image transfers using images from the museum's collection and current exhibitions. MakerSPACE workshops expand on ideas from exhibitions and are designed to encourage participants to explore new concepts and ideas guided by art professionals.
