Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update from City of Sunny Isles Beach. Sunday, March 22, 2020
Effective noon today, Sunday, March 22, 2020, the City expands the recommendation previously issued to an Official Order that all gyms, fitness centers, and swimming pools located inside condominiums, rental apartments, condominium hotels, hotels, and motels within the City of Sunny Isles Beach are ordered CLOSED until further notice.

In order to protect the public health, safety and welfare of the community, the City Manager has also issued a curfew within the jurisdictional limits of the City of Sunny Isles Beach. The curfew shall commence March 22, 2020 between the hours of 11:00 pm and 5:00 am, and continue until further notice. No person is allowed outside within the City during curfew hours either as a pedestrian or by means of any vehicle unless such person is:
Providing police, fire or other governmental services
Providing assistance expressly requested by police, fire or governmental personnel
Participating in, going to, or returning from a place of work or occupation
Walking a pet animal in the vicinity of their residence

Last week, we sent an email to condominiums strongly recommending the closure of all common areas, but we continue to receive reports of crowded pools and common areas in residents' buildings. This puts our residents' health and welfare in jeopardy, so now we are issuing this order for the well-being of our City and region. The City and County are currently in a declared state of emergency, which means that we all must do everything we can to protect our community. We must all take personal responsibility in order to combat COVID-19. We must remember that this is only temporary and these preventative measures are meant only to keep you safe.
