Coronavirus Updates
We continue to monitor and share information from the Florida Department of Health and the CDC regarding COVID-19, (Coronavirus.) Facts, frequently asked questions and links to professional guidance on this serious health matter. Learn what precautions have been taken by your City, County, and other government agencies and stay informed of the impacts to City of Weston operations.
Coronavirus and Your Pet
According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the World Small Animal Veterinary Association, there is no evidence that companion animals can be infected or spread Coronavirus. To date, there have been no cases of companion animals getting sick with COVID-19. Broward County Animal Care and Adoption, along with the Humane Society of the United States and The Association for Animal Welfare Advancement, created a list of precautions that you, as a pet parent, should follow.
Check Your Mailbox for the 2020 Census Letter
Last week, many Weston households received their letter from the U.S. Census Bureau with instructions on how to complete the 2020 Census online, by phone or by paper questionnaire. If you haven’t received your invitation, no worries! The Census Bureau will be continuously mailing out to households through March 20, so yours is probably in the mail.

Be sure to respond by April 1. Census employees will visit households that have not responded after mid-April.

Remember: Every person who is breathing and living in the United States gets counted in the Census! There are no questions about status or Visas. If you are here, you are counted!
Today is the Presidential Preference Primary
Get out and vote! Today – March 17 ­– is election day for the Presidential Preference Primary and the polls are open 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Your polling precinct may have changed. as the Broward Supervisor of Elections has made some precinct changes due to the Coronavirus outbreak, so click below to verify before you head to the polls.
Weston University Tackles Fiscal Responsibility and Cybersecurity
Students in this year’s Weston University program learned about fiscal responsibility, budget administration, procurement, and technology services in one day. They summarized their learning experience by participating in Census and City of Weston trivia games before lunch. In the afternoon, they selected their roles and began preparations for the upcoming simulated City commission meeting that they will participate in.
