Outdoor Installation New York Responds Is Now On View

In accordance with Governor Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio, the Museum will not be reopening as planned. Hear more from Ronay Menschel Director and President Whitney Donhauser in this interview with NY1.

We eagerly await the day we can once again welcome you through our doors and remain ready to do so—as soon as indoor cultural attractions are able. In anticipation of this event, please familiarize yourself with our new safety protocols and FAQs, as well as new cleaning procedures the Museum has implemented to ensure a safe environment for all visitors.

New York Responds
Now on View

At this moment of crisis and change, the Museum of the City of New York wants to share your stories of how our city is experiencing both the COVID-19 pandemic and the uprising against police violence. The Museum has unveiled the first phase of an outdoor installation featuring some of the many images that have already been submitted to us. This will serve as a starting point for a new exhibition that will open at the Museum later this year to tell the stories of 2020 and imagine what’s next for our city.
