Join climate thinkers, doers and problem-solvers for the first-of-its-kind event in Miami Beach taking place next week from May 9 through May 12.

Aspen Ideas: Climate - Free Activations
 
The City of Miami Beach has partnered with the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs to launch the Arts Resilient305 | Aspen Institute initiative. Local artists were invited to commission new and repositioned site-specific temporary public art installations and performances highlighting issues related to climate change and sea-level rise.
 
The outdoor art activations and performances are free and open to the public
 
In addition, Aspen Ideas: Climate will stream replays of the evening speaker sessions onto the New World Center’s WALLCAST facade beginning around 7:30 p.m. each evening for free public viewing. The film programs will follow immediately after, at approximately 9:30 p.m. each night.

FTX Off the Grid

You're invited to FTX Off The Grid - a three day event on Miami Beach, taking place this Formula One weekend, May 6 through May 8.
 
There will be live performances, gaming, food, culture, motorsports and much more across the entire Miami Beach race weekend, all happening on the sands of South Beach.

History of Auto Racing

Learn about the rich history of auto racing in South Florida by checking out Miami Design Preservation League’s exhibition.

The exhibition features information and visuals of Carl Fisher’s work as he built the first race track in North Miami Beach, the actual Spirit of Miami racing car that Emerson Fittipaldi drove to win the first Grand Prix of Miami and more.
Bulk Waste Weekend

Residents may take bulk trash to one of the locations listed below from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 7 and Sunday, May 8, 2022.
 
Proof of Miami Beach residency is required (formal identification with a Miami Beach address and/or a utility bill accompanied by a photo identification).
 
Please DO NOT dispose of chemical or hazardous materials, tires, paints, or car parts into the dumpsters. Contact the Sanitation Division at 305.673.7616 for more information.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Join us for a ribbon cutting at our new three-acre public park, designed by ArquitectonicaGEO, which sets a new standard for what a park can contribute to a community.

Park-goers of all ages, abilities and interests can enjoy the outdoor gym, dog park and a whimsical playground designed by world-renowned Danish firm MONSTRUM. There are a number of key elements within the park that further Miami Beach’s resiliency goals, including a collection of tree and plant varieties that creates a natural canopy in the park, and innovative drainage techniques.

The park will also be home to hundreds of vibrant, native orchids as part of The Million Orchid Project, a partnership with Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden.
