Weston, Celebrating 25 Years
With students back in school, we thought we would look back at the Cypress Bay High School Groundbreaking Ceremony held in 2001. Pictured left to right are City Commissioners Sandy Halperin and Edwin Jacobson, Attorney Paul Eichner, School Board member Lois Wexler, Mayor Eric Hersh, School Superintendent Frank Till, Jr., Senator Nan Rich, Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz and City Manager John R. Flint.

Cypress Bay has been a top achieving school since the day it opened. With a 99% graduation rate Cypress Bay is ranked #500 in the National Rankings by U.S. News & World Report and #33 in Florida High Schools.

House with Shutters in the City of Weston
Hurricane Preparedness
Shutters, Impact Windows, and Other Protections
Impact-rated doors and windows help to secure your home in the event of a windstorm; however, if you do not have impact windows, there are other options. Shutters are used to protect doors and windows from objects that may become projectiles during high winds, and to prevent damage caused by pressure changes when windows or doors fail. Additionally, plywood can be used to protect windows if you do not have shutters.

It’s important to become familiar with how you will protect your windows before a storm threatens South Florida, so you will be able to identify any additional supplies you may need in advance of a storm threat.
Water Smart
Back to School. Back to Swim.
Learning to swim is a life-saving skill, especially when living near water. Whether it is a backyard pool, lake or canal, water is everywhere in South Florida. If your child does not know how to swim, make swim lessons part of your back-to-school plans. It’s the first step towards drowning prevention.
