Weston, Celebrating 25 Years
It’s hard to imagine that the aerial above (facing south), circa 1983, is the same place we are living today. Yes, the development in the lower area of the box is Bonaventure, and the area starting to be developed at the top of this photo is what is today Windmill Ranches and Country Isles. Twenty five years later Weston has proved that, when done with proper respect to the environment, a world class city can spring from anywhere.
It's Almost Time to go Back to School!
It is hard to believe that students will be back to school in EIGHT days! Parents can help their children prepare for the transition back to school by ensuring registration is complete, before and afterschool plans are in place and students are prepared to step back into the classroom after over a year of eLearning. Check out Broward Schools’ Back to School page for links to registration forms, free and reduced-price meal applications, and more.

Making Public Restrooms Even More Accessible
Sometimes it’s the little things that make a big difference. Long time Weston resident, Lynn Wolfson can attest to that as she brings about awareness of the simple changes that can be done to public restrooms that make a world of difference for individuals with certain medical conditions – such as those who have feeding tubes or ostomies. The City of Weston is in the process of making these simple changes to all ADA restrooms in City buildings, with updates to the park restrooms soon after.
Your Next Shot to Take the Shot is This Saturday
Don’t miss your shot to take the COVID-19 vaccine this Saturday, August 14 at the Weston Community Center. The Florida Department of Health – Broward County will return to Weston with a “Pop Up” site for ages 12 and over at the center from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Stop by. No appointment required.
Hurricane Preparedness
Asset Inventory List
Be prepared for any emergency by doing an asset inventory of your home. Inventory your home possessions and videotape or photograph items of value inside and outside your home and place them in an airtight fireproof storage container to ensure that water cannot permeate through. This is useful information needed to report damage to your insurance company.
Cleveland Clinic Weston #1 in Miami-Ft. Lauderdale Metro Area
Once again, the Cleveland Clinic Weston ranked #1 in the Miami – Ft. Lauderdale metro area, for the fourth consecutive years, according to U.S. News & World Report’s “2021-22 Best Hospitals” rankings.

Real ID Requirement Pushed Back to May 2023
Is your ID a REAL ID? If you’re a recent Florida resident or have an older version of the Florida license, your ID may not be up to current standards. Beginning May 3, 2023, you will need a REAL ID compliant form of ID to board a plane. It may seem like a long time away, but we all know how fast time passes us by. And you know how long those lines at the DMV can be! Don’t wait. Make sure you are REAL ID compliant today (check for the yellow star in the corner.)
