Responding to Census 2020 Without Your Census ID
Beginning March 12, every household will receive a letter from the U.S. Census Bureau with information on how to complete Census 2020 online (or by phone, or on a printed form if you prefer). But what happens if you do not receive a letter yourself or if the letter is misplaced? Do your part to make sure you are counted in the 2020 Census.
Are Bicycles Allowed on Sidewalks?
In Florida, bicycles are permitted on sidewalks; however, cyclists must yield to pedestrians. Adult cyclists may prefer to utilize the bike lane in the roadway, which is preferred especially for training enthusiasts; however, children are encouraged to ride their bikes on sidewalks, as opposed to using the bike lane. Be sure to know the rules of road (and teach your children bike safety before they are out on their own).

The Broward Sheriff’s Office hosts several bike safety programs in the parks and at Weston’s schools to educate children on basic bike and pedestrian safety rules.
Don't Be Caught Underwater.
Flood Insurance is Important
Only flood insurance will cover the damage from floods. Because the City of Weston participates in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), flood insurance is available to everyone in Weston. As a result of the City’s Class 6 rating in the NFIP’s Community Rating System, Weston property owners receive up to a 20 percent discount on the cost of flood insurance for NFIP flood insurance policies issued or renewed in Special Flood Hazard Areas on or after May 1, 2014.

Water Smart Tips for Parents
Plan, prepare and prevent. Knowledge is the foundation to help parents and caregivers make smart decisions to protect children from drowning. Drowning prevention is a continuous effort that involves everyone in the community. Keep in mind, learn to swim programs are available at the Weston YMCA and throughout Broward County.
