City of Miami Beach Update on COVID-19, 2/25

The Interim City Manager has extended the city’s State of Emergency Declaration and Emergency Measures through March 3, 2021.

We continue to provide our residents and businesses with the latest updates from the City of Miami Beach during the COVID-19 pandemic. Read the latest news and updates below.
COVID-19 Updates
CVS Health Announced 67 Vaccination Site Locations in Miami-Dade County
Appointments for vaccinations at select CVS Pharmacy y más and Navarro Discount Pharmacy locations have become available for booking this week as stores receive shipments of vaccine.

Patients must register in advance at CVS.com or through the CVS Pharmacy app, and people without online access can contact CVS customer service: 800.746.7287. Walk-in vaccinations without an appointment will not be provided.
 
The Navarro Discount Pharmacy in Miami Beach is located at 631 71 Street, Miami Beach, FL 33141.
COVID-19 Testing
Drive-thru and walk-up COVID-19 testing continues on 17 Street and Convention Center Drive. We encourage you to pre-register for the walk-up site by clicking here or make your appointment for the drive-thru site here.

COVID-19 Vaccines
Miami-Dade County continues to work with hospital and healthcare partners to vaccinate members of our community against COVID-19 as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Appointments can be made through a scheduling tool, as more vaccines become available, at miamidade.gov/vaccine. The website is also available in Spanish at miamidade.gov/vacuna

South Beach Food Distribution
Commissioner David Richardson's office will host their weekly food distribution in South Beach on Saturday, February 27.

The food distribution is on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last. Please remain in your car and open the trunk when it's your turn in line.

Family Cooking Classes
The Miami Beach Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with Common Threads has brought back family cooking classes!

These Sunday classes focus on family participation, healthy ingredient substitutions and convenient cost-saving recipes. Their goal is to teach families how to cook together and incorporate healthy habits at home, while maintaining their existing traditions.

Sessions are on going on select Sundays now through May with two time slots, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Scott Rakow Youth Center.

Miami Beach Hall of Fame
The City of Miami Beach has extended the nomination deadline as we seek deserving individuals that have made a lasting and significant impact in our community for the Miami Beach Hall of Fame! The deadline to submit nominations is now Tuesday, March 23, 2021.
 
Nominees come from all walks of life and have made distinguished achievements across a variety of fields, including arts, architecture, design, science, athletics, business, and community leadership.
 
The Miami Beach Hall of Fame is designed to honor up to five distinguished leaders annually in the following categories:
  • Artist/Architect/Designer/Scientist
  • Athlete
  • Business Leader
  • Civic Leader
  • Family Legacy
