Hurricane Preparedness Essential Tips as a Storm Approaches Although a storm has not threatened South Florida this hurricane season, it is important to have a preparedness plan to safeguard your loved ones and property. Be ready to set your priorities in motion by securing your home (inspect your roof and windows), clearing your yard of loose items that could become projectiles in high winds, and stocking up on essential supplies like non-perishable food, water, and necessary medications. Don't forget to fuel up your vehicles and generators, if you have one. Stay informed through reliable sources, such as the National Hurricane Center and be ready to weather the first three days of the storm on your own. Your safety is our top priority, so let's work together to stay #WestonReady this hurricane season. |
