WestonNights Outdoor Concert Shane Duncan Band Join us on Saturday, February 5 for an unforgettable evening of music under the stars featuring the popular Shane Duncan Band, a high-energy Country Rock band that delivers a nonstop performance that leaves you wanting more.
The WestonNights Outdoor Concert series features an entertaining evening of live music on the event stage at Weston Regional Park from 7 to 10 p.m. Admission is FREE. Celebrating Black History Month 20 Years of Collecting and Sharing Black History and Culture in Broward
The celebration will kick off on Friday, February 11 at 6:30 p.m. with a rededication of the AARLCC and the grand opening of Collectors’ Duet: The Lifelong Librarianship of Vivian D. Hewitt and Dorothy Porter Wesley an exhibition that highlights the lives of two exemplary librarians who were also avid collectors of art and history of the African diaspora. Each of their collections grew to be world renowned. |

Virtual Hands-Only CPR Classes Available on February 3 & 24 Every year, 350,000 individuals experience sudden cardiac arrest. If someone steps in with CPR, it increases the chance for a positive outcome.
It takes 30-seconds to learn how to do hands-only CPR. - Check for responsiveness
- Call 911
- Start chest compressions until person breathes on their own or paramedics arrive. Push hard and fast in the center of the chest. 100 beats a minute. Push down two inches. Many like to do it to the song ‘Staying Alive’.

Weston Foreign Film: French Toast (South Africa) February 14 | AMC Weston 8 | 4:45 & 7:30 p.m. Join the Weston Arts Council for the latest feature in the Weston Foreign Films series, “French Toast.” The film begins in South Africa, where, Lisa discovers a long-held family secret and heads to France looking for answers, which yield unexpected results. 2023 Clean Air Calendar Poster Contest Entry Deadline: Friday, February 11 Submissions are open for the Broward County 2023 Clean Air Calendar Poster Contest. The Contest is free and open to K to 12 students in Broward County. This year's theme is: 30 by 30. It’s been estimated that, to lessen the effects of climate change, we must commit to preserving at least 30 % of our lands, by 2030. The contest, “calls on students to show what our lives and/or the environment would look like if we accomplished this goal.” For full details and qualifying media, check out the link. |

Citizens Initiates Extensive Florida Property Inspections Program New for 2022 and beyond, property owners who are insured by Citizens Property Insurance Corp., or ‘Citizens’ as it is known by many, may be subject to a third-party inspection (at no cost to you). According to an article by the Insurance Journal, if property owners refuse to allow inspectors to have access to the property, the policy may be canceled or non-renewed. The program will increase inspections from 1% of its policyholder properties to over 20% by 2025. Learn more about how this will impact property owners. |

YMCA Heart to Heart Fitness Challenge February 1 Through 28 Be kind to your heart. February is American Heart Month, and the YMCA of South Florida wants you to celebrate by motivating you to stay active with the Heart-to-Heart Fitness Challenge. Today through February 28, run, walk, cycle or swim for 22 miles per week for four weeks or complete a minimum of 88 miles tracked through the YMCA SFL Mobile App. Prizes for participation and completion will be awarded. |

YMCA of South Florida Lifeguard Hiring Event The YMCA of South Florida is hosting a lifeguard hiring event on Friday, February 4 and Saturday, February 5 at the Hallandale Beach YMCA Family Center (501 SE 1 Avenue) and the Pembroke Pines YMCA Aquatic Center (1361 NW 129 Avenue). Certified lifeguards should be prepared to be tested on their in-water rescue skills. Not a certified lifeguard? No problem! The Y will provide no-cost lifeguard certifications for anyone 15 and older with conditional job offer upon the successful completion of a swim test screening. |
