Happy New Year
Wishing you and your family a safe, healthy, and prosperous New Year from the City of Weston.

City Administrative Offices – City Hall, the Community Center, the Public Works Services Center, and the Building Department – will be closed on Monday, January 2.

City parks will close at 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 31 for New Year’s Eve and Sunday, January 1 for New Year’s Day.

There will be regular garbage and recycling collection.
Holiday Safety
Designate a Driver
You may feel like you can drive, but buzzed driving IS drunk driving. There's no excuse for driving buzzed – especially not now with so many affordable ride home options available. Don’t drive to the party without first designating a driver or scheduling your ride home. Various ridesharing apps give you the option to schedule your rides in advance. Take advantage of all of the new tools afforded you. Ring in the New Year safely with a designated driver or ride home.
EV Charging Stations Have Arrived and are FREE, with More on the Way
The City of Weston entered into an agreement with FPL to provide EV (electric vehicle) chargers at dedicated parking spaces in two of our busiest City parks and at City Hall. Partnering with FPL is a win-win for the community. The FPL EVolution Program is looking to increase the availability of charging stations by more than 50%, stressing the importance of workplace charging accessibility as an effective way to promote the adoption of electrical vehicles.
Christmas Tree Curbside Collection
Curbside Christmas tree collection will be offered again in Weston on your regular garbage collection day from Monday, January 2 through Saturday, January 14. There are just a few simple rules to follow for smooth pickup and disposal.
Chip in with Chip-a-Tree
Markham Park
There is another disposal option for your tree. Want to give your Christmas tree a second life? Broward County’s annual Chip-a-Tree program at Markham Park, 16001 W. State Road 84, will take place starting Monday. December 26 through Monday, January 16, where Broward County residents only can bring in a limit of two trees per vehicle and the trees will be chipped and used for landscaping throughout the county.
Cart It!
Recycling and Garbage Items Belong in the Cart
Starting January 9, packaging materials – such as boxes and containers – left beside the recycling carts will not be collected. The truck automatically picks up the carts without human assistance and curbside items cannot be handled by the automated truck. Be sure to “cart your cardboard!” Break the boxes down and place them in the cart to be recycled.
