There will be at least sustained tropical-storm-force winds, and some hurricane force winds, along with flooding rainfall for portions of South Florida Wednesday night into Thursday. Residents are encouraged to watch local forecasts to be properly prepared. A Veterans Day message from your City Commission
Veterans Day
On Veterans Day, observed annually on November 11, we honor and remember the individuals who have served in the United States Armed Forces to serve and protect our nation, defend the Constitution, and the freedoms that we enjoy as Americans. Originally observed as Armistice Day, commemorating the end of World War I when fighting ceased on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. The holiday has evolved to be a celebration to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good of our nation. To all veterans who have served, we thank you.
Veterans Day Holiday Observances
All City Administrative Offices (City Hall, the Community Center, the Public Works Services Center, and the Building Department) will be closed in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. City Parks will be open.
Veterans Day Breakfast
If you are a veteran, join us on Veterans Day for a celebration in honor of all who have served. The YMCA of South Florida, the Weston YMCA Family Center and Spirit, in partnership with the City of Weston will host a breakfast on Friday, November 11 at 8:30 a.m. at the Bonaventure Town Center.
