West Avenue Neighborhood Improvement Project Update

West Avenue Phase 2 Neighborhood Improvement Project
Project Update - July 22, 2020
A Letter to Commission (LTC) was distributed providing an update on the West Avenue project. The letter includes information on an additional review of potential alternative locations of the pump station and above-ground components following input from the community. Please find highlights from the LTC below. If you wish to read the full LTC, please click here to view the full document.

The project is expected to be discussed at a yet to be scheduled September 2020 special Commission meeting. It is not expected to be discussed during July’s meeting. The September discussion includes the stormwater drainage and harmonization policy as well as the location of the pump station and above-ground components.
The design-build team is currently developing a limited feasibility study that further evaluates additional options for the location of the pump station generator and above-ground components. The study focuses primarily on the capacity of the site to accommodate the required components following a request from the community.
A virtual public meeting webinar will be conducted to share the results of the study once it is complete.

Please note, while the items are listed on the agenda, no items related to the West Avenue Phase II Neighborhood Improvement Project are expected to be heard at the Special Commission Meeting on Friday, July 24.

Please click here to view the full agenda for the Special Commission Meeting on Friday, July 24. You can watch and participate in the meeting via Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87343999500

MDPLS Logo

Dear Library Patron,
Miami-Dade County is currently providing free face masks to the public at all 50 Miami-Dade Public Library System (MDPLS) locations. This mask distribution initiative is aimed at helping to reduce the spread of COVID-19, ensure that residents in need of masks have easy access to obtain them, and ensure compliance with Miami-Dade County Emergency Order 20-20, which requires that all persons in Miami-Dade County wear a mask or other facial covering when in public spaces both indoors and outdoors. The public is reminded that not wearing a mask is now a civil offense punishable with fines of up to $100.
Those who need a face mask can stop by any MDPLS location entrance to request and pick up masks, which will be available for as long as supplies last.  For a complete list of library locations and operating hours, visit www.mdpls.org/branches or call 305-375-2665.
