MAKE A CLEAN SWEEP FOR THE NEW YEAR
Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling Event,
Christmas Tree Collection and Bulk Trash Service all in January
Don't forget to clean out any hazardous waste you may have around your home and bring it to our drop-off collection event at the Public Works Services Center this Sunday, January 5 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Quarterly Residential Bulk Trash Service
On Your Regular Garbage Day (January 15-18, 2020)
Make a fresh start for the New Year! Bulk trash pick up service will take place this month for the following residential customers in Weston.  

Bulk pickup occurs on the date of your regularly scheduled garbage collection. All items should be placed curbside by 7 a.m. on your pick up day.

Single Family Homes and Multi-Family Units with Curbside Collection:
  • Wednesday, January 15
  • Thursday, January 16 OR
  • Friday, January 17

Multi-Family Units with Dumpsters (Place items near dumpster):
  • Saturday, January 18

Bulk items include but are not limited to:
  • Furniture, mattresses, carpets and other large household items.
  • Large and small appliances, such as dishwashers, laundry machines and stoves.
  • Refrigerators or air conditioners must have Freon removed by a certified dealer.
  • Mirrors, glass, glass top tables, windowpanes, and plate glass items should be safely placed in a rigid container to facilitate safe collection.
  • Homeowner-generated vegetative waste from regular yard maintenance -- NOT Contractor-generated waste. Now is the time to trim your trees for to weather the storm season. Just a reminder that work done by landscaping contractors must be hauled away by the contractor.

NOT COLLECTED Bulk items DO NOT include contractor-generated material or household hazardous waste (HHW).

NIGHT TIME LANE CLOSURE:
Two Eastbound Lanes & Sidewalk Closed
on SR 826 / Sunny Isles Blvd.
at Collins Avenue

Beginning at 9:00 pm on Thursday, January 2,
until 5:00 am on Friday, January 3, 2020.

Two eastbound lanes and the sidewalk on SR 826 / Sunny Isles Blvd. at Collins Avenue will be closed beginning at 9:00 pm on Thursday, January 2 until 5:00 am on Friday, January 3, 2020.


Heavy traffic congestion may occur  during this lane closure. Travelers may experience delays during this time. It is suggested to seek an alternate route when possible.

Beach Sand Renourishment Underway from January 6 through Early March

The Estates at Acqualina project will be completing a beach sand re-nourishment from approximately Terracina Avenue (northern City limit) to 185 Street. During this time, the beach will remain open but access may be partially modified. A temporary construction fence will be set up on the beach in the affected areas for the safety of beachgoers.
The project will begin on Monday, January 6, 2020, with an expected duration of 8-9 weeks, with completion around early March. Project hours are 7:30 am – 5:30 pm on weekdays. Although work is permitted on Saturdays per City Code, it will only take place if needed to catch up due to unforeseen delays. No work will take place on Sundays or on holidays.

Vacaciones en New York – Sitios a Visitar

 Programar unas vacaciones va desde pensar a donde ir hasta reunir el dinero que se necesita y para eso es bueno tener un presupuesto diario programado.

Tratare de narrarles mi experiencia de estos días desde el tomar el vuelo de Spirit con salida desde FLL ( Fort Lauderdale Airport) hasta Newark, New Jersey.
Nuestra partida en Spirit a pesar de un gran numero de comentarios negativos de esta aerolínea, fue sin ningún tropiezo y en tiempo.
Llegar al Aeropuerto de Newark, fue algo fácil, y sin casi ningún inconveniente mayor de allí tomamos un Uber hasta New York (Manhattan) que por ser dia domingo y la hora nos salio en un precio muy razonable. Las expectativas del hotel a pesar de conocer la cadena desde hace muchos anos no teníamos idea ya que Google Maps nos mostraba una fachada errada. El Hotel La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Times Square South, la recepcion fue muy amigable, la habitacion limpia, acomodada y todos los días el arreglo y las toallas perfecto, el hotel incluia desayunos bastantes bueno, abundantes y limpia la zona.
La ventaja de este hotel es la excelente ubicación por la cercanía a Time Square, Broadway, Five Avenue, estaciones de subway cerca, en fin casi de todo.






Ir aMuseo de Ciencias Naturales (American Museum of Natural History), es toda experiencia de casi todo el dia, el precio promedio es de US$ 33.00 por persona pero como es una donacion usted al final puede dar un monto menor para acceder al mismo.
Nos movilizamos a traves del SubWay hasta Central Park y de alli caminando hasta el museo.

Holy Trnity Lutheran Church, en frente del Central Park, via el museo.
Con su distintiva aguja de cobre, rosetón y puertas de entrada rojas en Central Park West, la Iglesia Luterana Holy Trinity ha sido una parte muy visible y prominente de la comunidad del Upper West Side de Nueva York durante más de un siglo. El edificio de la iglesia actual se completó en 1904.

La iglesia es más conocida por su serie de "Vísperas" de Bach, iniciada en 1968, la primera instancia en América donde las cantatas de Bach se podían escuchar regularmente en su día designado (designado por el propio Bach) en el contexto de la adoración. Cantatas, así como otra música apropiada, son interpretadas por el coro profesional de Bach y los jugadores de Bach desde Reformation Sunday hasta Easter.

Asi hasta llegar al museo de ciencias e historia, en donde debe de programar por lo menos 5 horas en el.


















Otro paseo obligatorio en New York es ir hasta la Estatua de la Libertad, sin importar el como este el clima ese dia, les recomiendo comprar las entradas y reservar dia y hora a traves de la internet a fin de agilizar las largas filas, e ir con ropa adecuada al momento y siguiendo las instrucciones de las prohibiciones a fin de evitar problemas en la entrada.

Para este paseo se puede ir tambien en SubWay hasta el Battery Park en donde esta el muelle en donde se agarra los ferrys hasta la isla.

Celebrate the holidays at The Lincoln Eatery! Miami Beach's first food hall has partnered with DIY craft genius and TV star, Amber Kemp-Gerstel of Damask Love, to create a larger-than-life gingerbread house installation, serving as the ultimate Instagrammable moment for the entire month of December.

Additionally, the food hall will host Jingle and Mingle, a daylong event on December 15, complete with festive, family-friendly programming. The meet and greet session will be followed by a cookie decorating workshop at 3 p.m., which will be hosted by Le Petit Bistrot at The Lincoln Eatery owner and pastry-connoisseur, Marilyn Arrebot.

The eatery will further transform into a winter wonderland with a kids craft table, balloon twisting, festive face painting, and a photo-op with a giant gingerbread man. Those wanting to attend Jingle and Mingle can reserve their spot here
