Free Flu Shots for Miami Beach Youth

The city has sustained its partnership with Borinquen Medical Centers, Miami-Dade County Public Schools, and The Children’s Trust to provide free flu vaccines to youth from October 27-29, 2021 at the following locations during afterschool hours and a teacher planning day: Miami Beach Senior High School, Miami Beach Fienberg Fisher K-8, and Miami Beach Nautilus Middle School. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), getting a flu vaccine will not protect against COVID-19, however, flu vaccination has many other important benefits. Flu vaccines have been shown to reduce the risk of flu illness, hospitalization, and flu-related death in children. Getting a flu vaccine this fall will be more important than ever, not only to reduce risk from flu but also to help conserve potentially scarce health care resources.
