Review your Emergency Plan

Review your emergency plan with your family now so you know what to do and where you will go in case an evacuation order is issued. Visit ready.gov/plan for more information.

Pre-Register for Emergency Evacuation Assistance

Residents who need assistance with daily living, medical needs, or specialized transportation must pre-register with the Emergency Evacuation Assistance Program. For applications call Miami-Dade 311 (305.468.5900), TTY/TDD 305.468.5402, or download one from their website.

Hurricane Supplies

Stock up on emergency supplies early. Once a hurricane warning is declared, most of your preparations should be directed toward your home. This year, remember to include face masks, hand sanitizer and cleaning supplies in your emergency kit. Visit Miami-Dade County's website for a checklist of supplies.

Hurricane Evacuation Centers & COVID-19

All evacuation orders are issued by Miami-Dade County. When an evacuation order is given, Miami-Dade County Hurricane Evacuation Centers (HECs) can be found on the County's website. Open HECs will also be listed on local radio, television stations and at Miami-Dade County's Call Center at 311 or 305.468.5900, TTY/TDD 305.468.5402. Every shelter may not be open for every event.

Miami-Dade County has established rules to adhere to during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Once an evacuation center is opened, evacuees will be asked to follow the guidelines set by the Center for Disease Control and Florida Department of Health. Individuals entering the evacuation center can expect to be screened for fever, cough and shortness of breath. If you have these symptoms, you should inform staff when you arrive. Signage will be posted outlining the rules evacuees must follow.

Please visit Miami-Dade County's Hurricane Guide and Evacuation Centers for complete information.

City of Miami Beach Update on COVID-19, 7/30

Thursday, July 30, 2020
The City Manager has extended the city’s State of Emergency Declaration and Emergency Measures through August 5, 2020. Additionally, the curfew in the Mixed Use Entertainment District (MXE) and Washington Avenue has reverted to 10 p.m. pursuant to the County curfew.

Any violation of the emergency measures shall subject the individual, operator, business entity, or organization to arrest and criminal prosecution pursuant to Section 26-36 and Section 1-14 of the City Code. Furthermore, any violation of the provisions of this Order may subject an operator, business entity, or organization to the closure of the establishment for a period of at least 24 hours, or through the duration of the State of Emergency.
COVID-19 & Antibody Testing

UPDATE: Due to expected inclement weather, both COVID-19 testing sites at the Miami Beach Convention Center and 73 Street/Ocean Terrace will close at 5 p.m. TODAY, July 30.

The sites hope to resume testing by Tuesday, August 4.

Walk-Up Testing
The walk-up COVID-19 testing is located at 73 Street and Ocean Terrace from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Once you check-in, there is no need to stand in a line, you will receive a text message advising when the nurse is ready for you.

Miami Beach Convention Center Testing Site
Both the COVID-19 active virus and antibody tests continue to be available at the Miami Beach Convention Center testing facility located on 17 Street and Convention Center Drive. The COVID-19 drive-thru and walk-up testing site is available daily, including weekends, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and is now available for children ages 5 and up.

Visit our 'Testing' tab to view detailed information on all testing locations, including testing at the Hard Rock Stadium and homebound testing and further details.

Mask Up Miami Beach
Reminder, Miami Beach Police and Code Officers are giving out $50 civil citations for anyone not wearing a facial covering while in a public place or space.

Free masks are being provided at all Miami-Dade Public Libraries.

We urge everyone to also continue practicing social distancing and meticulously wash your hands regularly.
Shift of Miami-Dade Transit Bus Stops

To commemorate their 35th Anniversary, MCB dancers are training where it all began — on Lincoln Road in a new pop-up studio space. The iconic Lincoln Road was MCB’s original studio location and home in 1986, a place where the community still recalls some of the company’s earliest memories.

Everyone is welcome to pop by 744 Lincoln Road , corner of Meridian Avenue, to catch a glimpse of the extraordinary MCB dancers as they train and practice (while observing safe social distancing rules), and view window displays of dazzling costumes from some of MCB’s most splendid and seminal productions. Learn more in this week's virtual culture guide here.
