Follow Us on Facebook » Follow Us on Instagram » Weston University Law Enforcement Day The Law Enforcement program day of the Weston University Class of 2020 provided participants with the chance to get a perspective of police work by spending a day with the Broward Sheriff’s Office. City Manager Don Decker greeted the students in the morning, followed by a roll call greeting by Captain Kevin Butler of the BSO Weston District. The students began their day with crime scene technicial at Markham Park, and were then taken to the tactical training facility and shooting range to experience how deputies train for their line of work. Following lunch, the students met with SWAT and K9 before touring the BSO Weston District Office. Deputies Danielle Quinones and Dominic Raimondi led the group’s activities throughout the day. Read More » A Day of Service and Love on February 14 It’s been two years. The vivid, heart-wrenching memories are etched in our minds as we reflect upon the lives lost in the Stoneman Douglas High School tragedy on Valentine’s Day 2018. Broward County Public Schools proclaimed the day to be a “Day of Service and Love.” It is an early release day across the district and students will be in school; yet, will have the opportunity to work on service projects rather than the standard curriculum. College Scholarship Applications Due February 28

College Scholarship Applications Due Friday, February 28, 2020 Sunny Isles Beach High School Seniors The deadline is approaching for Sunny Isles Beach High School Seniors to turn in your 2020 College Scholarship applications. Applications must be completed and submitted by Friday, February 28, 2020, at 5 pm. Scholarship winners will be personally notified no later than Friday, March 27, 2020. Formal award will be announced on April 16, 2020, at the monthly Commission Meeting. Apply Online Printed applications are also available for pick up at the Sunny Isles Beach Government Center and Pelican Community Park. Printed applications can be submitted in person to the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department 2nd Floor, Government Center, Attn: Barbara Valera or via U.S. Certified Mail to: Sunny Isles Beach Police Department 18070 Collins Avenue 2nd Floor / ATTN: Barbara Valera, Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 . Complete Online Application Application Criteria Applicant must be a current resident of the City of Sunny Isles Beach for a minimum of one year prior to January 1, 2020. Applicant must be a graduating senior enrolled in a public school or an accredited private school. Applicant must perform a minimum of 100 hours of community service with the City of Sunny Isles Beach by January 1, 2020. Applicant must be accepted into an accredited college or university. *The scholarship application will detail additional requirements and optional service/activities. About Each year the City of Sunny Isles Beach awards college scholarship money to well-deserving Sunny Isles Beach high school seniors. Although there are only a limited number of scholarships available, we certainly encourage all students to apply.
