Sepa cómo facilitar el regreso a clases de sus hijos

La mayoría de las escuelas del país dictó clases de forma virtual (en línea) durante el último año escolar. Por ello es importante que los niños que regresan al sistema de clases presenciales durante estas semanas cuenten con el apoyo de sus padres para que la transición no sea tan difícil.

Estas son algunas medidas que puede tomar para facilitar el reingreso de sus hijos a las clases presenciales:

  1. Hable con los maestros: averigüe si la escuela de sus hijos ofrece la opción de que los padres hablen, por videollamada o por teléfono, con los maestros para aclarar dudas.
  2. Comuníquese con otros padres: si conoce a otros padres que tengan niños en la misma escuela o programa, hable con ellos y hagan planes en conjunto para que sus hijos se sientan más cómodos con el apoyo de otros compañeros en su escuela.
  3. Asegúrese de que sus hijos tengan una rutina diaria con horarios regulares: tener el cuerpo descansado y tener una rutina establecida en la casa ayuda a los niños a sentirse mejor en la escuela.
  4. Trate de mantener la calma: los padres también pueden estar estresados con el regreso a clases presenciales, pero usted debe mantener la calma para transmitirles seguridad a sus hijos.
  5. De ser necesario, busque ayuda profesional: si su hijo presenta síntomas de ansiedad o problemas de comportamiento persistentes, busque ayuda con un profesional de la salud mental.

School Zone Safety
How will the start of the new school year affect your morning or afternoon commute? Expect more traffic and delays when going through school zones. Follow all traffic signals and look out for crossing guards. Bicyclists may even notice cars parking in the bike lane. That's ok. Cars are allowed to park temporarily in bike lanes when taking children to and from school. Be aware out there and help keep our students safe this school year.

YMCA: Swim for Jenny Week
Free Swim Lessons
The YMCA of South Florida is offering five days of FREE swim lessons in remembrance of Jenny who lost her life because she did not know how to swim. From August 30 through September 3, children as young as six months to adult can register in person at participating locations, including the Weston YMCA Family Center, to learn water safety skills and how to swim.

Weston Explosion Girls Softball
Season Begins September 10
The Weston Explosion Softball league is open to players, ages four through 18, of all skill levels, for season play which runs from September through November 2021. Evaluations will be held on Friday, September 10 at 6 p.m. at Vista Park.
