NEWS FROM THE CITY OF WESTON January 25, 2022 ‌ Next Regular City Commission Meeting: Monday, February 7 The Weston Community Celebrates the Arts The cold weather did not stop the Weston community from coming together to celebrate the arts. The Arts Council of Greater Weston highlighted the importance of the arts at their eleventh annual Celebrate the Arts event on Sunday, January 23. A steady crowd of new and familiar faces filed through the event throughout the chilly afternoon. Children and adults sharpened up their graffiti and sidewalk chalk art skills and enjoyed musical and dramatic performances by students group from our local schools. (CGA). Our partners at CGA handle much of the City’s planning, zoning and engineering services. Students heard from experts in their field on the latest trends and technologies used, and got hands-on demonstrations of tools and equipment. They finished their tour with a City Commission meeting role-playing exercise of a proposed development.  View Photos » FREE COVID Tests It’s fast, easy and free. There is a limit of one set of four at-home tests per residential address.  Order Now » Bulk Trash Pickup This Week The next Residential Bulk Trash curbside pickup takes place this week, from Wednesday, January 26 through Saturday, January 29 on your regular garbage collection day.  Bulk Trash items include appliances, vegetation from regular yard maintenance by the homeowner, mattresses, carpets, furniture and more. BSO Fire Rescue offers two options for a virtual, hands-only CPR class to help you stay prepared for medical emergencies. The class walks you through identifying when and how to administer CPR. The class is free and open to all over 8 years old, just be sure to register in advance.  Register Here » AYSO Soccer Spring 2022 Registration Still Open Although the season does not begin until March, players four to 18 interested in playing recreational soccer can register now for the spring 2022 season. Games are played on Saturdays and practices are held on weeknights (days vary based upon team assignments), at Weston Regional Park.
