Weston Maintains Aaa Bond Rating
One More Reason to Celebrate as we Ring in the New Year
The Moody’s Credit Overview statement in the 2021 Annual Comment on the City of Weston says it all, ‘Weston’s credit position is excellent and its Aaa rating is much stronger than the median rating of Aa3 for US cities. Notable credit factors include a substantial tax base, a very strong resident wealth and income profile, a robust financial position and exceptionally low debt and pension liabilities.’

This Aaa rating provides that when the City is ready to issue debt, it will receive the most favorable rates, terms, and conditions afforded to U.S. municipal governments.
Road Closure: SW 36 Street to Close on Dec. 31
Part of C-11 Impoundment in the Broward County Water Preserve Project
Effective December 31, SW 36 Street (Manatee Isles Drive), will be closed to through traffic just west of the Florida Nature & Culture Center. The road will no longer go through to U.S. 27.

There will be a cul-de-sac built at the location as a turn-around. The project spans two counties and is part of the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP), a joint endeavor between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and South Florida Water Management District. The closure of SW 36 Street is integral to the project which was brought before the City as far back as 2006, where issues were raised and some favorable assurances obtained on the residents behalf.
