School Zone Safety
How will the start of the new school year affect your morning or afternoon commute? Expect more traffic and delays when going through school zones. Follow all traffic signals and look out for crossing guards. Bicyclists may even notice cars parking in the bike lane. That's ok. Cars are allowed to park temporarily in bike lanes when taking children to and from school. Be aware out there and help keep our students safe this school year.
Commissioner Molina-Macfie Appointed to Broward County Condominium Structural Issues Committee
To address local concerns after the tragedy of the Surfside Champlain Tower collapse, to address local concerns, Broward County Mayor Steve Geller has assembled the Broward County Condominium Structural Issues Committee to review the County’s current rules and regulations regarding high-rise condominiums, to determine which governmental bodies have jurisdiction over condominium safety, and receive public input.

The Brain Bus to Visit Weston
Learn About Alzheimer's and Other Dementias
More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s and over 11 million people serve as unpaid caregivers for a loved one affected with the disease. Learn more about Alzheimer’s and related dementia’s when the Brain Bus, sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association, visits Weston on August 30. You can learn the ten signs of the disease, find local resources for patients and caregivers, and get caught up on the research advances that are being made.
YMCA: Swim for Jenny Week
Free Swim Lessons
The YMCA of South Florida is offering five days of FREE swim lessons in remembrance of Jenny who lost her life because she did not know how to swim. From August 30 through September 3, children as young as six months to adult can register in person at participating locations, including the Weston YMCA Family Center, to learn water safety skills and how to swim.

Junior Tennis Fall Session Begins This Week!
Time to hit the courts! The Weston Racquet Club offers a range of classes for children and teens ages 4 to 15 interested in taking up a new sport or staying active by improving their tennis skills. Weston Explosion Girls Softball
Season Begins September 10
The Weston Explosion Softball league is open to players, ages four through 18, of all skill levels, for season play which runs from September through November 2021. Evaluations will be held on Friday, September 10 at 6 p.m. at Vista Park.
