Project Benefits
With G.O. Bond funding, the Miami Beach Police Department (MBPD) is expanding the city's CCTV security camera system to cover the Beachwalk between 14 Place and 23 Street. The added security camera infrastructure will enhance public safety and security for residents and visitors that use our beach and Beachwalk system.
What’s Happening
Over the next month, construction will be done to expand CCTV security camera coverage on the Beachwalk between 14 Place and 23 streets. The contractor will be directional boring (mostly underground work) to install conduit under or next to the existing paver path, and get the system running.
What to Expect
At times, equipment and machinery for directional boring may be seen along the Beachwalk pathway between 14 Place and 23 Streets. Due to the construction, some noise and/or pathway blockages can be expected. We do not anticipate any full path closures as a result of this work.
Timeline
The boring and conduit work will begin immediately, and is anticipated to conclude in approximately one month. This schedule could change due to inclement weather or unforeseen field circumstances.
Please note, the project team is closely monitoring the situation surrounding COVID-19. The contractor is enforcing strict social distancing measure and employees are using face covers while on site, including during break time.
