City Commission Meets TONIGHT
Weston University RECAP - CGA
Students participating in this year’s Weston University program received a candid look into the world of development services on January 15. The class traveled east to the Ft. Lauderdale-based offices of Calvin, Giordano & Associates (CGA), the City’s contract provider for planning, zoning and engineering services.

The day provided students with an insightful experience hosted by professionals in the field, as well as a multitude of career opportunities that are available in the disciplines that fall under the scope of development services. Click below for pictures of the exciting day!

Bulk Trash is THIS Week!
YES, Residential Quarterly Bulk Pickup for JAN is really THIS week!
Did we confuse you?

Previously published dates for bulk pickup in January 2020 were INCORRECT. We apologize for the error. The correct dates are Wednesday, January 22-24 on your regular collection day for curbside collection; and Saturday, January 25 for multi-family with dumpsters. Place items curbside by 7 a.m.

You can also place out any remaining Christmas trees curbside for pick up with the bulk trash items.
Winter Safety Expo
Helicopters, SWAT vehicles, motorcycles, airboats . . . there’s just so much to see at our popular annual Winter Safety Expo. Join us for an entertaining, fun-filled and educational evening with Law Enforcement and Fire Rescue / Emergency Medical Services agencies and all their cool, interactive equipment.

Oh, and did we say SNOW? It will be snowing in Weston, too. There will also be DJ music, bounce houses, giveaways and ice skating (South Florida style) and food trucks.
Celebrate the Arts Day
Get in touch with your creative side at the annual Celebrate the Arts event, hosted by the Arts Council of Greater Weston, on Sunday, January 26. Don’t miss the chance to paint, play a musical instrument, draw on the huge graffiti wall and enjoy all of the chances to interact with many art forms, including visual, performance, and literary. There will be face painting and balloon and caricature artists, too. Admission is free..
Who Counts (and Where) in Census 2020?
As we prepare to participate in the upcoming census, you may have questions regarding who exactly counts on your form. Census forms are traditionally completed by the head of the household, but if you are a seasonal resident, are divorced and have split custody of your children, are a renter, have a student away at college, are a member of the U.S. military, etc. there are certain guidelines to follow.
New Year's Resolution: Learn to Swim
Drowning is the fifth leading cause of death in the United States. In Broward County, it is the leading cause of unintentional death among children ages one to four. Don’t let yourself or a loved one become a part of this statistic make it your New Year’s resolution to learn how to swim.
Flood Maps Are Changing: Attend a Public Flood Risk Open House
All Broward County residents and business owners are invited to attend an upcoming Public Flood Risk Open House in early February to learn about your flood risk, view Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) newly updated preliminary flood insurance rate maps (FIRMs) and find out how the information may impact your property.
